SNE Child Nutrition Reauthorization 2009

 

Public Policy Plenary Session

On behalf of the SNE Advisory Council for Public Policy Child Nutrition Reauthorization Subcommittee, we thank you for participanting in the Policy Plenary Session, Child Nutrition Reauthorization 2009—Nutrition Education & Promotion in Schools.  This informative session took place on Tuesday, July 14th from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at the Sheraton New Orleans during SNE’s 42 nd Annual Conference, Food Security: Local to Global!

 

Session Agenda

  • Fern Gale Estrow will introduce the session and speakers (5-8 minutes)
  • Margo Wooton will provide a brief background on the upcoming Child Nutrition Reauthorization and discuss some of the National Alliance for Nutrition and Activity’s (NANA) coalition building strategies (15 minutes)
  • Fern will moderate a discussion between panelists: Margo, Tracy Fox, Marilyn Briggs, Reggie Felton, Isobel Contento, and Judy Schure. Participants will also be able to ask questions and provide feedback during this time. (~60 minutes)
  • Tracy will conclude the session with action oriented steps for attendees to help advance nutrition education and promotion for children and adolescents (~ 8 minutes)
